February 2, 2011 - Middle of a long week.
Not much to say tonight except that I'm doing pretty well on my dieting habits. I've been eating 6 times per day, small meals or snacks. Seems like it'll be hard to keep it up, but I'm damn sure gonna try!
Worked out with Katie tonight and she kicked my (already near exhausted) butt! But, she gained more of my confidence in her abilities as a trainer tonight by recognizing when to push and when to bring it down. I started feeling a bit lightheaded and she recommended we get some water, breathe, and take a short break. On the BOSU squats with kettlebells, instead of having me do 15, she said to just do 10. When I got to 10, I said, "I think I got 5 more!" She replied, "Great! Let's see 'em! You can do it!" I've got to listen to my body and hold back when I need to, but I also need to listen to her, and trust her view as an outside perspective. It'll be real easy for me to not push myself hard enough, but just as easy to push myself too hard.
I think I finally grasp what a long hard road this is going to be. I need to make some smaller, more quickly attainable goals to keep me motivated. I'll have to do some research and see if there are any Sprint Tri's or even 10k runs coming up.
That's about all on my mind, training wise. I'm doing a long distance trip next week, so the gym time will be shortened. I'll let you know what ends up happening!
'Til next week...
:-D
