January 24, 2011 - No more excuses!
I know. It's been a week!! But what a week it was. I seemed to work a lot, and then when I wasn't working... It was my birthday!! So, I sort of gave myself a week off. Although, as I was working today, I realized that I'm really only making excuses. The work isn't going to go away (in fact it's only gonna get worse) and I can't use that as an excuse to not workout anymore! And I remembered today that I've got to be getting in shape for a frisbee tournament the first weekend in February!! Ugh, I'm not ready! This is why I've got to re-motivate! My goal this week (and here on out) is to go to the gym 3 times minimum!
So, what have I done positive this week?
This week I've been keeping a food log on three days: 1) Working at the hospital, 2) Working with the transport company, and 3) A day off. I'll turn this in to my trainer (hopefully Wednesday) and get her feedback. I don't suspect it'll be positive, but it'll be good for me! :) She suspects that I'm not getting enough calories, I suspect I'm getting all the WRONG calories (ice cream calories vs protein shake calories).
And, though it's not positive in a triathlon sense, I got really drunk last weekend! I only seem to do it once a decade, to remind myself why I don't do that. :) I had a more-than-expected turn out from friends and had a fantastic time. There seemed to be a lot of "had a great time last night" around facebook thanks to my b-day, which made me happy. Had a feel-good moment of insight into my girlfriend's thoughts. That was great. :) Then had dinner with a friend and learned that she's found something super positive in her life that makes her happy and is going to pursue that some more. So happy for her!
So, yeah. Though it's been a very poor week for training, it's been an overall good week for me mentally and emotionally. Next week starts the uber-training and frugal living! With both endeavors, it promises to be rough at the beginning, but SO worth it in the end!
I'll keep you updated, as I said, as often as I feel the need, but weekly at the least!
:-D
